Licenses #

MMDAgent-EX #

The MMDAgent-EX code is provided under the Apache License, Version 2.0 ( Japanese translation).

MMDAgent-EX is built using many third-party software libraries. The following is a list of libraries used (not guaranteed to be exhaustive). Please pay attention to each software’s license when using them.

CG avatars #

Each CG avatar published on GitHub defines its own license and usage guidelines. The following provides an overview, but always check the README in each repository before use.

In general, the CG avatars on GitHub are released under the CC-BY 4.0 License. Each avatar specifies a required credit line; please display it in some form when using the avatar. Replace the [[Name]] part with the model name.

Note that for some models (e.g., Gene) Nagoya Institute of Technology holds trademark and design rights. The following uses are permitted without authorization. For other commercial activities or uses, please contact the developer individually.

Examples of uses allowed without permission:

• Academic activities (paper publication, presentations, etc.)
• Personal non-commercial use (posting on social media, display at events, etc.)

Usage Guidelines #

The following guidelines address ethical, legal, and social issues (Ethical, Legal and Social Issues; ELSI) for using MMDAgent-EX and CG avatars. These guidelines may be updated in response to technological advances, societal changes, or legal requirements.

Prohibited uses #

• Illegal activities
• Material depicting sexual abuse of children, or content that exploits or harms children
• Creation of content that promotes hatred, harassment, or violence
• Activities that pose a high risk of causing physical harm. This includes:
  • Manufacturing weapons
  • Military or conflict-related uses
  • Management or operation of critical infrastructure such as energy, transportation, or water systems
  • Content that promotes, encourages, or depicts self-harm (e.g., suicide, self-injury, eating disorders)
• Fraudulent or deceptive acts. This includes:
  • Fraud
  • Organized wrongdoing
  • Plagiarism
  • Spreading misinformation
  • Impersonating real people, organizations, or entities, or making false representations to deceive others
• Acts that harm the MikuMikuDance (MMD) community or its tangible/intangible assets. This includes:
  • Actions that infringe the rights of model, motion, music, or other rights holders
  • Uses that do not follow the guidelines set by rights holders
  • Improper redistribution, theft, or impersonation of authors
